"Have you heard about the criticaly acclamed MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV?"

I mean... it's no stranger to not know what Final Fantasy XIV is!

It is one of the popular MMORPG's of all time right next to games like World of Warcraft, Everquest and even Final Fantasy XI, and is also the forteenth installment in the Final Fantasy series created by Square Enix and was released on PC in 2010, commonly known as "Final Fantasy XIV 1.0"

The original 1.0 became so bad with a lot of problems, espcecially the dreaded flower pot as seen below, that the company had to completely rework the game into now be known today as A Realm Reborn: Final Fantasy XIV aka "Final Fantasy XIV 2.0", being released on August 24th, 2013 for both PS3 and PC, then later on for PS4 in 2014, PS5 in 2021 and now coming to Xbox Series X/S in 2024 with the announcement of the next expansion, Dawntrail, which I'm really excited about it!

If you want to see how the game came to be, I suggest watching both Noclip's documentary series and Speakers Network's Fall and Rise series

For on how I've gotten into playing FFXIV, it was all the way back in February 3rd of last year when I saw my friends playing the game and I had the feeling that I wanted to get into playing the game for myself (and this is my first time playing a Final Fantasy game by the way), so the one thing I have wanted to create my character is by making him a Lalafell (I named him Sizzle Slacker, unoriginal I know lmao)

This is what he originally looked like for when I started playing the game for the first time in A Realm Reborn.

To now what he looks like currently in Endwalker, my baby has finally grown up!

And after playing through the game from A Realm Reborn to Endwalker for about six months (February to August), I can safely say that it is one of my favourite RPGs of all time, from the locations, the characters, the story (it gets good in Heavensward) and even the music... oh man that is one of the main highlights of the game itself, the songs I love from the soundtrack, like Dragonsong, To The Edge, Footfalls, Miracle Works, The Last Stand and of course Close in the Distance!

If you ever wanted to try out the game for yourself, there is both a Free Trial and the Full Game that you can get on Steam that I can provide links to it!

  • Full Game (Recommended if you don't want to play the Free Trial version of the game)
  • Free Trial
  • But yeah, if you ever wanted to play the game with me, I am named "Sizzle Slacker" on there, but I do have a second save file named "Kokishi Potolin" on there, I'm in Malboro, via in the Crystal server!
